Hi Stampers,
This is what I did today!! I also spent some wonderful time with my daughter getting our hair done and going out to lunch!
I have been seeing a lot of these Cascading Cards on Pinterest and I had made one years back, but thought it needed to be done again. Boy was it fun! Here is a link to a great print out of how to make the card. I had a hard time getting going, I didn't know what I wanted to do with it. I used a piece of Authentique Paper and made the base. Then to decide what to do with it! I love the new stamp set Bird Song (it should be available real soon!) so decided to use that. For the flowers I used Spellbinders Itty Bitty Flowers dies and Copper Memories Mist with a Dew Drop in the center. Then I decided to stay with the copper theme and embossed the butterfly with two layers of Copper EP, then stamped with the feather with Versamark directly on top of the Copper and embossed with Native American, I love the outcome! (I love copper and turquoise together) I put a strip of 3/4" Tear-ific Tape across the bottom and covered it with Bronze Splendor Glitter.
Then I just started embossing the different images in the set with the Native American & Copper EP and cutting out. You can click on any of the pictures to make them bigger.
I did the same technique on the bird here as I did on the front butterfly. For the nest and eggs I spritzed a cardstock with the Copper Memories Mist and embossed with the Native American.
I love the arches with the butterflies! I used my new Botanicals die from Spellbinders and hand cut out some of the swirls for that back piece and behind the nest.
I stamped and embossed all the sentiments with Copper EP.
I hope you enjoy my card as much as I am.
Have a great weekend!

Bird Song
Hi Stampers,
Today I'm sharing another sneak peek with you! This is another set from Beccy Muir and I'm in love! I love birds anyway, so this set just really grabbed me. I had this background sprayed sitting on my desk pile from when I was first playing with the Memories Mists and templates and decided it would work nice with the stamp set. I ended up using a square punch to punch out the birds in the cages and embossed them with Velvet Sparkle EP and layered them on a scalloped square and put them back with dimensional tape. The sentiment was embossed on vellum with White Detail EP. I didn't take a picture of the inside, but I also stamped one of the new images on the inside:) (clue - it's the stamp in the second card)
Thanks for looking:) I hope you have a blessed day.
Jill

For the second card I used the Cosmic Embossing Powder in semi-transparent pastels, to give it a soft springy look. Pastels is not my favorite, but I think the card came out okay:) I stamped the background with a feather stamp in the set.

Bicycling
Hi Stampers,
I thought I would share a sneak peek with you today!! Sparkle N Sprinkle has some new stamps coming out soon from Beccy Muir. I love bike riding and this set is so good for spring and summer! I love the sentiments in this set and I think you will too! I embossed the images using the Tuscany EP's. The glitter strips on the top card are using the Velvet glitters, the bottom is a new color, Cobalt Glaze and it is awesome!
My husband and I recently went for a bike ride...just might have to use these stamps in a scrapbook page. Now I'm off to get ready to go scrapping tomorrow:)
Have a great weekend!

By the Seashore
Hi Stampers,
I've been having so much fun playing with new toys!! I love the inspiration it brings:) I used some new brass stencils that will be on the Sparkle N Sprinkle website in a few days and I used the Memories Mist with them and just misted on the stencil. Then trimmed around the edge to leave a misted border. I thought it needed a bit more of texture, so I stamped my Music Background. For the sentiments I embossed to make it stand out. I thought these would make a nice gift set of note cards for someone. There are a few more seashell stencils that I can use to add to it with other colors. Here are some individual shots:)
As always, thanks for stopping by and looking at my humble artwork:)
Blessings,
Jill

Innocence
Hi Stampers and Scrappers,
Margaret from Sparkle N Sprinkle had this adorable picture of her granddaughter and I just loved it and asked for a copy of it to scrap it for her. She just spoke Sweet Innocence to me, thus the title:) I used the Authentique Paper - Seasons, Spring Collection and just went to town with them! I distressed them, tore them, stamped them, inked them.
The flowers where made from Scalloped Circles cut outs from Spellbinders. I distressted them and inked the edges with Versamark and embossed the edges with Vintage EP. The glitter dot swirl was made with Dimensional Glue and Champagne Glitter.
The birds are a retired Spellbinders die and I put 3 coates of Strawberry Sherbet EP on them, then stamped into it to give it texture. The tree branch was cut with my Pazzles and embossed with Caramel EP. After I embossed both the birds and branch I inked the edges with Brown Stazon.
The title was cut out with the Pazzles and embossed with Cotton Candy EP More Dimensional Glue and Champagne Glitter. I also tore the word out of an old dictionary and added it.
To highlight her face I used more Spellbinder dies and some fun fur.
More glue and glitter.
Lots going on in the page, but I think it all works together! Loved doing this page and George and Margaret loved it. You can look for it at the show this year because that is where it is ending up!
Thanks for stopping by and as always I appreciate your sweet comments!
Happy Scrappin'

Mixed Media Sweet Peas
Hi Friends,
Since I had torn out pages of my Altered Book to make room to I had an abundance of pages and decided to use it for my card...how much fun!! I started by laying down a coat of Gesso on the page. Then I stamped and embossed the image with Gold Tinsel EP and watercolored it. You can find all the details of the card here at Sparkle N Sprinkle.
I love the look of the text in the background. Hope you are doing something creative everyday.....it just makes me HAPPY! :)

Altered Book
Happy Monday Stampers, I've found a new love!! Altered Books!! I started about a month ago and have had so much fun playing with all the different possibilities. What I love the most is the texture on the pages and the unlimited way of making your pages!
I tried doing this before several years back but had such a hard time wrecking a perfectly good book. I've since just picked books I don't like and it's not a problem! lol I have used so many techniques and different products on the pages it's hard to name them all but I will try. On the cover I used gesso first then sprays and stencils to start with, then doddled on the birds a bit. Embossed on chipboard cut out with Sizzix dies, made dryer sheet flowers and a vine with leaves using wire. The door knob (I will take a side picture so you can see the dimension) was bought at Michael's a year back. I gessoed puzzle pieces and inked them. Stamped with Stazon ink. Stamp and embossed on tissue paper scraps...used stickers for my title. I used Medium Gel to apply the pieces to the cover.
On the first page, I used the my new Spellbinders Botanical Swirls (bottom left) and used Medium Gel to apply, then inked the pages with Memento ink. Then I used stencils. The hearts are torn out from scrap pages of the book, then gessoed and inked using Brilliance Rocket Red (so were the edges of the pages). The other hearts are left over scraps of some glitter lace background laying around. Then I used the time stencil and molding paste. The words are stamped and so are some other background.
The second page was started by applying the Memento inks directly to the book page, then I added a bit of gesso to tone it down. The borders are stamped and embossed. Butterflies where laying on my desk and I used those, the top one is fabric, the right middle one is actually Mudd Puddles using a stencil I made and the bottom one is mirror cardstock and sticker paper with glitter. The words where hand written and watercolored.
The third page is inspired from"She Art" I did my background by starting with gesso, and stencils with Memento ink. Then I cut out the girl with another scrap book page and colored with acrylic paints, the shirt is cut out from a piece of Authenqiue paper. The glasses where cut out with my Pazzles and embossed with Pretty Princess EP. I used stickers for some of the words and printed words from my computer. I also stamped on the background. I am so excited about doing more pages in my book and expanding on techniques!!
Thanks for stopping by and remember to do something creative today!
Hugs,
Jill
