The Journey

I love nautical stuff...and I found this compass rose from Inkadinkado and just love it. I did a quick collage background with the Versamark Resist technique. I used Bordering Blue ink with the brayer, then Night of Navy for the top compass.

I layered it on Night of Navy and added 3 large silver eyelets. The sentiment is embossed with silver and tied with a piece of rope. The sentiment is from SU.

On our way to school in the morning we listen to the radio and they always tell you what day it is and this day happened to be "Share a banana split with someone day"! So Lexy and I didn't need any further excuse to make one. We used a large bowl and piled in all the good stuff!!!

Hope you enjoy:)

Halloween House Mouse

Here is another House Mouse stamp...I think they are just toooo cute with their little candy corn outfits!! I colored them with my Prismacolor pencils and gamsol. The stamp in the upper right is one of the dollar stamps from Michaels that I picked up a couple years back.

I like to stamp on the inside of the card too, and since I didn't really have any room for this big saying I did it up for the inside:)

I like to go for nature walks and I'm working on a bird book for my nephew, so went for a bird walk. Didn't get any pictures that I didn't already have, but had fun anyway:)

Since Mandy moved home with her cats, Sailor has loved having a playmate around. They like to tear through the house chasing each other...it's quite entertaining. Sailor doesn't even mind sharing his chicken dinner with her!

Have a great Wednesday:

More Scraps

Happy Monday!
Sorry I haven't posted, but I haven't been able to get pictures to upload on blogger and I just figured it out!
Anyway, here is a fall House Mouse card that I made with more scraps. On the background of this one I also used a sponge dauber and Dusty Durango and Soft Suede inks to darken the edges. The image was colored with watercolor pencils and blender pen.

I've been learning more digital scrapping lately, playing around in Photoshop Elements and this is a page I made this weekend. This is my nephew who is all to happy to pose for me.

Have a great Monday:)

Backgrounds from Scraps

Well as you can see I have been making alot of backgrounds using my scraps. I have a draw full of small pieces and have decided to use some of them. After I glue them down on a piece of plain white cardstock, I run them through the Cuttlebug and emboss them. Layer it on a solid color and you have a colorful and dimensional background. I picked these stained glass stamps from Sparkle n Sprinkle to do these cards. I watercolored them with pencils and used the Dove Blender pen on them. The iris has glitter added to it.

Lexy loves painting her nails, and she gets quite creative alot of times. This time she made them into strawberries (or watermelons) which ever you see. How Cute!!
Have a great day.

Positive/Negative

This is a neat technique to use when you have a large stamp with alot of detail. I stamped once on Black with White EP, and once on White with Black EP. I cut both out and layed them on top of each other and cut them with the paper cutter. Then I cut a black square and a white one and cut them in diagonals. Then adhere them lined up...you may need to trim the outside square when you are finished.
Stamp and EP's are from Sparkle n Sprinkle.

Emerson's Stamps

Happy Friday! Okay, I told you I would share a couple of the stamps that I got at Emerson's store last week. Here are two of the new Christmas stamps that I got. I already have the cat and the smile, but he has this new stamp with the Christmas saying on it, so I had to get it.

There is a pair of piliated woodpeckers that live in our neighbor hood and I have been trying to get a picture of one. Well, yesterday I walked in the morning and evening when I mostly see them and was lucky enough to find one of them. He hopped from tree to tree and let me photograph him.
In the process of trying to find him I took some shots of my favorite bird the osprey. He was just watching me as I took many pictures of him...he looks so stately.

Masked Frame Nest

I used the technique challenge from Splitcoast for these cards. I started by cutting out a template with the Nestibilities and running some of the 2-way glue from SU on it and letting it dry (that makes it repositionable) and placing it in the center. Then I stamped around the circle with my stamps and with the stipple brush added some of the same color ink.

The birdie card is done with the new Bremuda Blue. The nest is out of the new set Natures Nest, but the rest of the stamps are from various retired sets. The bird is stamped and cut out and placed on dimensionals. The main image panel is layered on Soft Suede.

For the ornaments card I used Kiwi Kiss and all stamps from Sparkle n Sprinkle Stamp Set 194. After I removed the mask I stamped the large ornament and embossed with Firecracker Red. The blue ornament is stamped on a seperate piece of cardstock and embossed with Firecracker Blue, cut out and adhered with a dimensional. Around the circle I used the glue pen and added some Parisian Mist glitter. The brads I embossed with the Firecracker Red as well to match.

Hope you all have a wonderful day:)

A herd of Wild Horses

This is a picture I took at the Emerson store on Anna Marie. He is the artist for the Emerson stamp line. This is his studio that is in the back of the store. He has a great collection of stamps. So if you are ever out on the Island stop by and say hi. I've been busy making cards with some of the new stamps I picked up last week, so I will show you those soon.

This is the thank you card I made for the Hoe Down. It's an old retired SU set. I got it because it reminded me of the wild horses we saw in the Bad Lands in North Dakota.

Flocked Glitter

I made this card the other day with flocking & glitter. I took an old stamp box and dumped some Azure flocking in and then added an equal part of Meteor Blue glitter, then I shook up the mixture. I used the SU Butterfly die and mirror cardstock and placed them on a piece of sticker paper. Then I dumped on the flocked glitter and rubbed it around. I stamped the sentiment and embossed it with Cherry EP. The flocking, glitter, sticker paper, mirror cardstock and ep is from Sparkle n Sprinkle. The die and other cardstock is SU.

Last weekend we were invited to a Hoe Down. We had such a great time. We did alot of line dancing. It was a good workout too:)

Happy Stamping,
